Team Requirements & Deadlines
Every year WKU country representatives host a national tryout or event(s) to compile a team of the most qualified from that country to attend that year's WKU World Championships.
This year WKU World Canada is on track to host a National Championships where the top 4 placing competitors, will be offered a position on the National Team.
Should you place and desire a position on team Canada at the 2026 WKU World Championships in Berlin, please ensure you read and meet the following conditions:
- Placed in the top 4 of your category, or placed as a spare and have been offered a position on the team.
- Maintain division eligibility - weight and/or age must be appropriately managed (More info below).
- Confirmed your desired WKU World divisions (Team Events Excluded): Confirmation Due Date: 31.05.2026.
- Spares will be approached at this point to fill any gaps in divisions.
- Placed your National team merch order, requirements are division specific. Catalog below. - Orders Due Date: 07.05.2026.
- Booked your hotels through WKU World Canada (Revised Process - See Below) - Booking Due: 14.06.2026.
- Purchased/Renewed your 2026 WKU World Canada Memberships (Linked Below). Membership Due: 14.06.2026

2026 WKU World Championships
The 2026 WKU World Championships will be hosted at the Estrel Berlin, the largest hotel in Berlin.
The Estrel Hotel will be the only official WKU hotel booking option and will be required for all athletes. The package rates listed below include breakfast, VAT, and city tax.

Rooms are based on availability. A very limited number of family rooms are available.
All room rates are priced per person staying in the room.
Additional bed options are available and added per instance where desired.

Maintaining Division Eligibility
Competitors are responsible for enrolling in the appropriate divisions they wish to partake in at Worlds. To remain eligible competitors must:
- Ensure their weight is within allowable tolerances
- Ensure the correct age category is selected
Allowable tolerances for weight are:
- +0.2Kg for kids (8-12).
- + 0.0 Kg for all other competitors.
All divisions age categories are based on the official WKU age cutoff - June 30th.
- For competitors whose birthdays fall before June 30th, you are considered "Older" and move into the older age group (if applicable)
- For competitors whose birthday fall after June 30th, you are considered "Younger" and will stay in your current age group.
Age consideration is critical if a competitor is bordering a change in age group. A competitor who wishes to qualify for the national team at the 2026 WKU National Championships MUST qualify in an appropriate age as of June 30th, 2026.
Please inform us ASAP should weight not be achievable or if age was not considered correctly.
