WKU Forms
WKU hosts a multitude of Forms divisions. Note: Not all WKU Forms divisions are offered at all WKU events.
Hard Style
Hard Style (HS) Forms are traditional forms derived in a hard style martial art including Karate and Taekwondo.
Hairstyle forms must use traditional moves only. A traditional form / Kata must resemble a traditional work; an adaptation will be acceptable if added moves are traditional.
Korean Style
Korean Style (KS) Forms are traditional forms derived in a Korean discipline. Karate and other hard style forms are not allowed.
Korean-Style forms must use traditional moves ITF Forms. A traditional form / Pomse / Hyong must resemble a traditional work; an adaptation will be acceptable
Karate Kata
Karate Kata (KK) Forms are traditional forms derived in a Karate discipline. Taekwondo and other hard style forms are not allowed.
Karate Kata forms must use traditional moves only. A traditional form / Kata must resemble a traditional work; only traditional Japaneses Katas are allowed
Soft Style
Soft Style (SS) Forms are traditional forms derived in a soft style discipline. Hard style forms are not allowed.
Gymnastic type moves are permissible, provided that they are within the style, for example: Wu-Shu, but they must be practical. An adaptation is acceptable if added moves ar

Free Style (FS) Forms is traditional or non traditional forms derived from any discipline type or self created where music is used.
Music must be used, and the choreography to the music is of high importance. The use of weapons is strictly forbidden. The use of stage props such as

Musical Weapons (MW) Forms are traditional or non traditional forms derived in any traditional discipline or created.

Vetrans Traditional forms must be using traditional moves based on corn, Japaneses or chines style only. A freestyle form is not acceptable (no machine-gun kicking, etc.).

Karate Weapons forms must use traditional moves only. A traditional form / Kata must resemble a traditional work; only traditional Japaneses Katas and Japaneses traditional Weapons, for example a real “Oak BO” are allowed (JKA) and not a plastic Weapon.

ITF Forms
ITF Forms are a strict traditional ITF form. A freestyle form is not acceptable (no machine-gun kicking etc.…). A traditional GI or Dobok must be worn, no use of weapons, no music is allowed.
Scoring judges should be looking for: Basic ITF techniques, Stances, Punches, and Kicks

Traditional Team (TT) Forms are traditional forms derived in any traditional discipline.
Traditional team forms must be using traditional moves based on Korean, Japaneses or chines style only. A freestyle form is not acceptable (no machine-gun kicking, etc.).
