About the DOJO Project

About the DOJO Project

DOJO is a Cardano (ADA) proof-of-stake (POS) stakepool. Established in epoch 358 (08/18/22) in the mountains of northern British Columbia, the developers of the stakepool have built a pool that will dedicate 3% of all earnings to sponsoring martial art athletes under the age of 18. This provides the martial arts community a massive financial opportunity and could help many families attend events.

Within Cardano's POS protocols, there are two entities that play key roles in the operation of the pool. The first is the stakepool operators (developers of DOJO). Operators are responsible for maintaining the pool's operations, such as pool services, 24/7 operation, monitoring, maintenance, security, and more. DOJO's operators are also responsible for delegating the 3% rewards earned in the form of sponsorships to WKU Canada's athletes. The second key role within Cardano's POS protocols is delegators. Delegators are individuals holding ADA who use their voting power (ADA owned / all ADA in circulation) and place that voting power with a stakepool; this process is delegation. Delegators are absolutely essential to the operation of the stakepool, as with a low cumulative voting power, the pool is less likely to be selected to mint blocks (the process in which DOJO is selected to run a series of calculations to secure the block chain). Rewards are based on successful mintings of blocks, and the more DOJO mints, the more the pool earns. This, in turn, results in the DOJO stakepool project being a community based project and requiring the help of anyone willing to delegate voting power.

Sponsorships with DOJO

Sponsorships with DOJO

DOJO earns rewards based on its voting power and successful mintings. Of those rewards, 3% will go to WKU Canada's competitors in many different forms. At this time, DOJO and WKU Canada are experimenting with ideas on how to break up the 3% and how to sponsor competitors.

At this time, we are planning on breaking the 3% into two portions. The first portion of sponsorships will be a closed, application based sponsorship program that will focus funds on low-income families. The second portion of sponsorships will be an open raffle that could have any competitor (under the age of 18) win sponsorships.

At this stage of the project's development, DOJO has earned enough rewards to provide sponsorships at the 2024 WKU Canadian National Championships. More details will be provided on DOJO's social media platforms and webpage as it becomes available.

DOJO is a community-based project, and in order for our rewards to become more substantial, we require more deligators.

Staking With DOJO

Staking With DOJO

If you are interested in joining the DOJO community and helping us support the development of youthful martial artists while earning some rewards, delegating your voting power with DOJO is an amazing opportunity to achieve that.

DOJO is aiming to earn a 6-8% ROI for its delegators. 3% of all rewards earned by the pool (3% of delegator's ROI) will be converted into sponsorships for athletes.

To delegate to DOJO, you will require two things: ADA and a Cardano POS supported wallet such as Daedalus or the Yoroi wallets. Once you have your ADA purchased, you can proceed to the staking page where you can choose what pool you will delegate to. You can find the DOJO stakepool under the DOJO ticker. Once you have selected DOJO as your pool, it will take up to 2 epochs (10 days) for everything to sync and before, you might receive rewards.

Please note: When a delegator delegates, they never rescind control of their ADA. A delegator always maintains full control of their ADA and is only providing their voting power to the stakepool.

Please note: Any ADA or other cryptocurrency purchases made are done at your own risk. This is in no way financial advice, and appropriate precautions should be taken before making any investments.
